Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship
Sarah Khan, MD Director
The pediatric
anesthesia subspecialty training program is a 12-month program
designed to prepare physicians for the clinical practice of pediatric
anesthesiology. This program has been accredited by the ACGME since
1999. Ample research opportunities are available and encouraged
to assist those interested in a career in academic medicine.
The Children's Hospital Operating Rooms (CHOR) consists of a five
operating room suite with a separate PACU and admission area dedicated
for the children. This space is physically adjacent to the adult
inpatient operating room area. We provide a diverse mix of clinical
experiences, which includes care of the medically complex-critically
ill child and high volume routine pediatric surgery cases. A wide
variety of surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed
on neonates, infants, children and adolescents. Fellows will develop
expertise as a perioperative physician through involvement in our
Pediatric
Preadmission Visit Program and the Pediatric
Pain Service.
This fellowship program will allow individuals to develop clinical,
teaching, administrative and research skills.
